HURRICANE KATRINA TAUGHT US EVACUATION PLANS ARE NEEDED FOR ANIMALS TOO

It was one year ago people being evacuated from Hurricane Katrina were told to leave their family pets at home. There are no nummbers regarding the thousands of animals who died as a result of "NO EVACUATION PLANS FOR DOMESTIC ANIMALS".
We need a FEMA for animals. There needs to be a way to protect all the animals in situations like Katrina.

PINKY was a hit at the Old Bridge Public Library

Pinky arrived in style for the showing of "The Tippy Story". The kids were all smiling when they saw her. After the movie, they surrounded and all touched her. The parents were surprised Pinky didn't mind "all this touching"". I explained Pinky was taught to be around people.
My dogs are part of the family. I have them around me wherever I go. This gets them used to "humans". At Staples in Freehold, Pinky is a regular. She sits on a blanket in the shopping cart and has people touching her all the time.
The kids liked the move and some even bought the "Tippy" magnets. The library will offer another showing in the fall. Next time I will let the kids play with her before and after the movie."Ali" may get to come too.
There is nothing better than dogs and kids!

The Tippy Story will be shown at Old Bridge Public Library tomorrow

Pinky and I have been packing up the car for tomorrow's showing of "The Tippy Story". Pinky is Tippy's daughter. She travels with me to show the movie and meet the people.
I had to get apple juice and animal crackers for the kids who are coming. I hears there were 100 kids at the library today to see a "penguin". If I had known they had a penguin, Pinky and I would have gone.
I am hoping the kids who saw the movie will share some of the thoughts with us on the blog. I have to brush Pinky's hair and her teeth. She hates when I brush her teeth! She spits everywhere.
Ali, will have to stay home. She is just a puppy and would not know what to do with herself. If the kids enjoy our day with them, we will come back with Ali.

Letlive.org Israel rescue group needs hlep for 8000 animals

A spokesperson from Letlive.org was on TV today begging for donations for food for the 8000 misplaced animals. They say conditions are hot, there is no water or food. A donation of $35.00 would feed 50 dog or cats. Please spread the word and offer assistance.
